THE APPLICATION

  • Teach a foreign language to kids
  • Move a play card or object in front of the toy and wait to hear what it recognizes.

THE CHALLENGE

  • Put an image recognition system inside a toy which is reliable, can be battery-operated, does not heat and can be produced at very low cost

THE SOLUTION

Images of the playing cards were captured and trained with a vision-based training application. The knowledge file (from the chip) is saved to an SD card which is then plugged into the toy. When the toy is turned on, the knowledge file is loaded into the neurons and recognition starts immediately. Recognition of an object triggers the playback of the associated MP3 file stored on the SD card (i.e. the cat, el gato, die katze).
